Too often environmental organizations are seen solely as activists, meaning that their education agendas are viewed with suspicion. We will follow the example of Ed Wilson, who has achieved, in his writings, lectures, and media appearances, a balance between the dispassionate authority of the true scholar and the urgent advocacy of the concerned environmentalist.
